Mercer County's Magnificent Barns will be the subject of an evening presentation held at Howell Living History Farm on Friday, May 30 at 7pm.
The hour-long talk and slideshow will be given by Elic Endersby and Alex Greenwood of the New Jersey Barn Company, the firm that restored and raised the frame of the Charles Fish barn, now part of the Howell Farm Visitor Center. The story of the barn's preservation and adaptive re-use will be featured in the presentation, which will include a walking tour of the classic, 5-bay English style barn.
The program will include a photographic tour of English, Dutch and Delaware Valley barns located in Mercer and nearby counties, as well as a talk on the challenges of identifying and saving historic barns and farm buildings. The free program is the second in a new series of Friday evening programs. For a list of other programs check the calendar of farm events. Gates will open for the program at 6:30 p.m. Seating is on a first come, first served basis. There will be light refreshments following the program.
